American Board Of Plastic SurgeryBefore Your Procedure - Plastic Surgery and Don'ts

Well, the new year has finally arrived and it is now time to put into action all those great resolutions that you made! Is this the year the "you again? For many of you who understand a new system and a little more exercise to get in better shape. For others it may be the year you make the leap and you finally make that appointment with the office of Dr. Back and see what all this stuff plastic surgery is really everywhere! Maybe I can help you before you even come into play Scheduling an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon may be the biggest and perhaps most important step you take to see what cosmetic surgery can do for you. How about some "tricks" before coming to this appointment for?

1) Do you ensure that your plastic surgeon is certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Unfortunately, there are many doctors who could advertise or promote themselves as the holder of a certificate, but they are not necessarily talking about what they are specifically Board Certified in. (They are not doctors you should go for plastic surgery!) In addition, the American Board of Plastic Surgery is the respective final legimatics and certification organization of plastic surgeons in the U.S. Beware of "sound-alike" imitations as Board Certified " plastic surgeon. "Only the most skilled plastic surgeons have earned the right to call the Council certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and do not use such a designation.

2) Do not hire a doctor who has no operating room or admitting privileges at a local hospital accredited as a certified plastic surgeon Council. If your doctor does not intend to see these privileges, this means that the hospital or Surgi-centers in the region do not recognize their skills as good enough to be on their staff. The plastic surgeon you want to have appropriate qualifications and have these privileges.

3) Do not ask to see photos before and after the work of doctors in other patients. A lively and popular plastic surgeon will probably before and after pictures very similar to yourself. Even better: a patient who had this procedure in the last year or so that might be willing to talk about their experience. Computer simulations are great, but they are just "simulations". Before and after photos will show you what the doctor actually performed for other patients.

4) Do not get a second opinion consultation. Different doctors have different styles and sometimes different approaches to similar problems. You must ensure you have a nice comfort level with plans and options have been discussed with you. More importantly, you should have a level of comfort and confidence in the doctor and his staff.

5) Do not make a decision solely on the basis of price. This may seem trivial, but it'll only cause you problems. Surgeons have qualified in all price ranges are usually very similar and very fair in what their costs reasonably reflect the amount of work you are considering doing so. Beware of prices that seem to be a bargain - you can double-check the credentials on it.

6) Do not ask how easily your doctor will perform the operation in the safest and most reliable surgicenters will be high quality, accredited and state facilities under license. These facilities have the best equipment, the best staff and nursing staff and systems and appropriate equipment to deal with potential emergencies.

7) Do not ask your doctor about the estimated recovery time and restrictions regarding your specific procedure. If you do not have the opportunity to organize your activities and social or family obligations or not.
