Blackboard Tools

Blackboard ToolsTables Why are they still relevant

Tables have been with us for over 300 years. They were the first effective way to visually present information to a roomful of people all at once. Tables remained unchallenged until the 1980s with the advent of whiteboards.

Whiteboards have become increasingly popular in schools and colleges are ubiquitous in almost all offices and conference rooms. However, as the new technology will be put into service presentation media continues to evolve and interactive whiteboards are now the preferred method for multimedia presentations.

So what is relevant on an old idea 300 years in the fast moving, multi-media of the 21st century?

We see them every day outside pubs and clubs advertising an array of different events or offers. Paintings hang on the walls of many restaurants to display the menu options and to inform customers that a football match is to show or gang which occur. Tables have become an effective advertising medium and inexpensive. In fact there are artists painting and professional marketing firms that focus solely on this activity, producing designs for a bold and dynamic variety of different products and services.

But tables still have their use in the classroom. Teachers and other educators of young people believe that the profile of the board surface has just enough resistance to help children to write effectively. The smooth white board was shown a proposal much more difficult for young writers.

While interactive whiteboards are an effective and popular, they can be easily damaged resulting in costly repairs and are expensive to buy first. Tables are relatively inexpensive and although this is also the case for standard whiteboards, they offer a number of advantages over them.

The white background can cause contrast problems for those who have the vision or learning disabilities. The bold white on black contrast on a blackboard is much easier to read. Chalk also produces material uniform throughout its useful life and generally lasts a long time, however, whiteboard markers fade quickly for use until they become too faint to be visible. It is difficult to assess how much ink is left with a marker, chalk, while visibly reducing the size to use. Chalk is also much cheaper than pens for whiteboards. Chalk is easily carried clothing and hands to wipe the difference makers.

The tables are easy to clean with erasers felt or cloth while harmful chemicals should be used to effectively clean the whiteboards. Both chemicals and pens themselves have a strong pungent odor. Chalk is odorless and has been shown to contain no toxic substances and you will never ashamed to face the guard, because you used the wrong type of ink.

Although all the different presentation media have their place, the table continues to hold its own and will probably still be in service in another 300 years. I wonder if the same can be said for the rest.

We were noctice card manufacturers for most of the time, but quickly became one of the blackboards of our sales lines the stronger which is why we have developed and continue to grow, a growing line of full tables to suit all needs.
