Burp Cloths

Burp Clothsburp cloths?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone of you here have tried to make your own burp cloths? Our baby is not due til March and we have a shower in January. I do not sew, but my husband. I was just wondering what type of material used to make cloth? I know they have those thick bulky but I have heard people using 2 pieces of flannel put together, but there is nothing between her or not? Or maybe some towels sewn? It need not be thick like these diapers they sell. I thought it would be pretty cool and colorful, if we could make ourselves bibs.

What do you think?

This was one of the things my mother told me not to register or buy, because it is good sewing and wants them all. They must be made from something soft and absorbent, such as terry cloth or flannel, and they should be the size of a standard kitchen towel. If you shop, you'll find great deals on leftover fabric into the habits of minors or colors for your toddler. Good luck and congratulations!

Those I bought seems to be a soft sponge material. If you have a JoAnn Etc. near your home, you should definitely go see them, you and your husband will find tons of great material out there but my suggestion is terry cloth (like towels). Click here to see if you have a store near you http://www.joann.com/joann/ . By the way, I think it's great that your husband can sew-p

YOU do not sew, but your husband does? really? use any type of material, flannel, cotton, which is washable.

Two pieces of flannel would be good.
Make some thick and some thin ... a variety so that when the baby comes you "ll figure to the one you like best.

Seriously any material thick work (such as flannel, as you said). You will not need to sew two peices together, just your husband sew a hem around them so they Frey. You could buy one and try to duplicate ... it will not be difficult. Anyway, it's just going to take the pin, so it will not be glamorous. ;-)

Good luck and congratulations on your peanut!

It would be fun to do with your husband. Just do not invest too much money in it, remember that they will be used. Most of those I have are made of terry cloth. Maybe you could go to a craft store and make terry and printed material and make the design you like.

This is great idea. Put the sheet set flannel or terrycloth (towels) is an excellent idea. You do not need to put something between the two. I just put two pieces of fabric together and sew a seam on the edges. I have some fun at home those layers of fabric with another fabric panel sewn to the center of the canvas. It is a very nice burp cloth and they are my favorite canvases to use because they are nice and thick and large.

My aunt gave me burpclothes mothers of washable nappies lol. she found a very cute baby fabric to use as garnish on the edges ... Baby I'm late so I havent learned to use yet. But I wish she made them, it makes it even more special:)

it can use a cloth base on top with flannel or terry cloth on the bottom. I would cut them with a tape binding. I saw a pattern to make an online burp cloth, the basic form. If I can find before time runs out on your question, I'll change my answer to add the link to the ground.
