Cap Guns

A cap gun or cap pistol is a toy gun which produces a noise like a gunshot and a puff of smoke when the trigger is pulled. Cap guns were originally cast, but after the Second World War were made of zinc alloy, and most new models are plastic.

While many had their names on the model of hero or heroine, many guns of the CAP has also been named "Stallion 45", "Pony", "Mustang", "Pioneer," "Cowboy," "Texas" "Colt 45", "Rodeo", and others.

By the end of the war until about 1965, the world's children imitated their heroes and collected and played with these toy guns. There were many types of firearms of the CAP, including small guns like Derringers, big guns, and miniature work of most of them, one of which (the most famous) has was named after the television show, The Rifleman. The guns were usually in 3 styles, semi-automatic revolver (which was actually a rotating cylinder) and the gun that looked like a regular revolver, but opened to load a roll of caps. Almost all of the early models used either roll caps or circular disks of caps, but in 1950 Nichols Industries came out with a large model called the standard 45, which had a revolving cylinder in which the bullets were responsible individual, who each had two parts. The circular ceiling has been placed in the 2-piece ball and then when the gun was loaded and fired, it was very realistic. Finally, several companies used this idea a few years later Nichols invented a plastic bullet that was inserted in a hollow version of the regular two-piece ball and when the gun went off, the plastic pellet shot out of the end barrel. Finally, Mattel also released a model called Shootin Shells'.

Ring cap guns are usually modeled after revolver pistols, with the cap ring placed in the cylinder section of the toy gun. Like its counterpart in the real world, when the trigger is pressed, the cylinder rotates a new cap in place, the dog is pulling back, then released, the shock causes the CAP to explode safely, producing noise and smoke.
