I am very experienced with Maya. It is easy to learn, cheaper software my employer could buy?

I need something I could easily switch from Maya to convert small. I would make educational videos 3D.

View Blender's OpenSource and the price is right (free). Blender 3D import popular file formats.

However, I am party to Xara vector drawing program. They have several plug-ins for 3D graphics, animation content. Xara makes me productive, rather than using a 3D video application.
