Disney Figures

Disney FiguresWhat happened in the life of Walt Disney for him to choose not to have many strong mother figures in his films?

I am doing a project on Walt Disney absence of mother figures in his films. I know that his mother died, this could be his reasoning? What are your thoughts?

The lack of numbers in Disney movies mother has nothing to do with Walt Disney himself. Most movies that Disney put on the market are based on the age old stories, from the Brothers Grimm and Aesop's fables.

Stories like Snow White and The Little Mermaid (both have no parent) has not been issued by Disney, so this is not really their fault, no mother in history. There is a great book called "mouse under glass" which is an excellent read. It includes the original script for many many Disney movies, and he said that Disney changed about them. It's really surprising how many films in which Disney does not create the plot, but just to add their own twists to it. If you read some chapters, you'll see how the mother / father stories are not Disney's all done (for the most part.)

To create stories that Disney does not include a mother or a father, he is likely to create a hero or heroine. Disney likes to have the main character finds the courage and heroism, and often they do following the loss of a parent. This could be something that Walt had to do as a child, so good point there! I am sure that both the background and the proceeds of Disney tales play a role.

I never learned about that's guessing right.

Well, to arrive at a plot, the creater should be able to link the characters. Whether based on dreams, experience or anything. So, do not have a mother would do something Walt Disney could easily, making it easier for him to write. I always had a strong maternal figure, if I would have a very difficult time creating a story that is missing a mother figure.

It is always a tradgedy when someone's mother dies. He could certainly have an effect on him, especially if they are close

Well, a lot of classic Disney movies (Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, etc.) are not the source of Disney stories. If Walt Disney had added a mother character in the stories, it would hurt more than the original plot, and would add another character who would have to be worked.
