not count as an elementary school science fair project. I think it is because my sister found a website on the science, and the person who came to talk to primary school my sister about the science fair also gave an example that was :

Do men and women wear the same amount of boots?

Just go with a volcano. Your SIS is primary. It's cliche, yes, but it is only a small child. Unless it was average or high school, then yes it would be a shame. Unless you enjoy the pleasure of the project, then go ahead. Your ideas seem quite creative.
