Russian lacquer box? Is there an official name for the Russian lacquer boxes? They are black with paintings inside Fedoskino top and red.
If you mean Fedoskino lacquer paint boxes, then they are "fedoskinskiye shkatulki" (fi-do `s-chin-ski you shka-tu l-ki).

Thank you for your interest. Good luck! :))
In fact, the official name for the Russian lacquered boxes that literally means is Shkatulka Russian Lacquer Box. However, these boxes are 4 different regions or schools of art: Fedoskino, Palekh, and Kholui Mstera. Each school has a unique style. http://lilianainternational.com Flag
I do not think so. I have been to many antique shows and talking to dealers about these boxes. Nobody has ever called by a particular name. There are works of art in itself, is not made for other purposes.
