Fx5 Filter

Fx5 FilterHow long do I leave a ring 90Gal tank before introducing fish, Fluval FX5 filter used?

I'm just creating a reservoir 90Gal knew, the guy at the pet store said it would be ok for the fish after 24 cycles only. I always thought more like a week, adding small pieces of food to induce the nitrogen cycle. I try to Fluval FX5 of this reservoir, the feedback on this filter. Thank you to all who respond to these questions, your awesome.

This is the ultimate question. Each tank is different to give you a time, it could be two weeks or six weeks. Once your tank is running, you must allow the process cycle kicks in and 24 hours will not do. If you want to scroll faster, add a piece of raw fish or shrimp to make it kick started.

Chances are, after about one week to test your water. What are your views? two weeks, test the water. If your nitrates and ammonia, pH stable, the reservoir is more than not cycling, but if they are not, you'll have to wait another week When your water quality readings are stable, you can start add fish. Remember do not add too much too fast or it will send your biofilter in space. One or two fish a week or two. Patience. I can not say I've never used a Fluval FX5, I can not say if it is rated for your tank and filter tank capasity 3 times, you should be fine.

24 hours your tank is not recycled. To help you understand what's happening in your tank, here is a good link.

Good luck with the new fish.

A tank will not cycle without a source of ammonia. This may be a little fish or something like food fish or a piece of fish. It may even be a small amount of white or distilled ammonia. You're right, it will take several weeks to get the tank cycling. Doing without fish is usually faster than the rate of ammonia can accumulate over the top without risk to fish.

I have very little experience with Fluval filters, but the little I have always been positive.

theres no time on the time it takes a tank round, you Ned for testing ammonia and nitrite to determine weather its ready to fish.
You need to keep adding food until you get readings of ammonia, when you get these, continue to add food daily. shortly after, you'll read nitrite. you must wait until your tank shows no nitrites and no readings of ammonia and they are both toxic to fish and hurt them.
So, wait until all readings are in order and even then I would only add about 3 ish hardy see how it goes. As I said there is no time limit, but it will take more than a week to do so. When I created my new tank it took three weeks, who was with me using pure bottled ammonia (available from most stores supermarkets), and using Whish gravel and the filter has already been seeded with bateria a tank already traveled. Juice tank your time and be precise and patient, and you have an aquarium fish healthy and happy. success

Ideally, until your first plants are rooted.

But no one ever

more than 24 hours .... It really depends on what fish you want to introduce. I usually cycle my tanks by the introduction of something to get the cycle started. After a few days, I present my cat difficult ... nothing can kill these things. Then, after a week of moving to my cat I offer my most delicate fish. I've done successfully several times, with arowana, discus, and a fresh water line some of my more sensitive fish.
