Gripe Water

Gripe Watergripe?

I just gave birth to a beautiful little girl two weeks ago and it gets terrible gas pains that were crying for half an hour after bottles. I tried different formulas and feeding stations and bottles of Mylicon drops and I'm running out of ideas! I hate to see her in so much pain and it will keep us all night! Has anyone ever tried gripe water? Is it effective for gas pains? Help please!

Gripe water works wonders for my son. He was the king of gas. Other things to try are: Dr. Brown's bottles, football "hold", Isomil (soy milk with Similac) or Enfamil LIPIL Gentlease. But from my experience, these things only helped. Baby's Bliss Gripe Water is the only thing that worked 100%. You can buy it in health food stores, or you may be able to find a cheaper price on Ebay. My son loved the taste of it and you can literally hear his tummy deflates when he took. A word of caution: it is easy for them to choke. give him gradually from a dropper, or you can even mix it with forumla. Good luck, I know how it can be trying. (Mylicon Drops, BTW, did absolutely nothing for him.)

never heard ....
Have you asked your pediatrician???
Maybe she needs a different formula???

Ive used for the gas it works great! It is difficult to look at a health food store or a place healh like Vitamin Shoppe.

Yes, I heard of him, in fact I ordered by mail for my daughter when she was a baby and he really help. I wish I could give you the number, but I never saw him. You should look up and order, the taste was good too .... good luck with it!

It worked great for my friend's baby, but do not do a thing for me. Have you tried Enfamil Nutramigen formula? It is the only thing that my son relief. We also used Dr. Brown bottles. I hope you something that works for you soon. I know how difficult it is to sleep!

If you have not tried Nutramigen, will seek today. My little boy had colic for 6 weeks. Within 48 hours of the evolution of Nutramigen, it was a different baby! So calm and content. Nobody could believe it. The milk proteins are "pre-digested" (whatever that means - yuck). His little stomach just could not handle the protein in the regular formula or my milk elsewhere. Try.

Go read the info on the site. This formula has been done for babies with colic.

You can even get a free sample.

Maybe she is lactose intolerant ...

Good question. I have the same problem with my 6 weeks old and have had. I had to change his formula because of consitpation, and I have been giving him Gerber gas relief. We started with the Mylicon drops and they have not helped. But that seems to help Gerber much more. We also switched her bottles to Mr. Brown. They also help. He still has problems. More than he should .... so I might also try Gripe Water. I feel your pain my dear .....

Here is what my pediatrician told me: Gripe water used to be really effective in dealing with babies collicky because it was mainly alcohol! gripe today is alcohol free and is more efficient, so it inadvisable to use it.

My niece had this problem and the doctor said she had acid reflex and gave him Zantac (he removed the pain) and he said he would go away altogether when she was about 5 month and she will not disappear. You should ask the doctor about this .... Good Luck

Firstly, if it has only two weeks, how long do you want these different forms before proceeding to another? He takes the baby's digestive system of about 3 or 4 days to get the old formula out of it and get the news it to see if she reacts well with her. baby's digestive system is very delicate, and it is b.
