Incredible Hulk Toys

All toy companies are willing to grow sales in a stagnant $ 22 billion market, they want to know what toys are "hot" for the year. Invariably, the toy trends for the year are strongly influenced by movies being released this year. This year, there are awesome icons available to us - Indiana Jones, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man and Batman. Outside of these super-heroes, hot toy trends for 2008 also include dinosaurs, robots, musical toys and of course, web connected toys!

1. Web Connected Toys

2. Dinosaur Toys
Dinosaurs have been around for some time now (remember the very recent Pleo?), But they have certainly made their presence felt at the Toy Fair! Here is a dinosaur that was hard to miss - Kota the Triceratops from Playskool. This friendly creature is fairly large at about 40 feet and is equipped with sensors, which, when activated, move the head, tail and horns. Children will enjoy this amusing session (and very expensive) creature. Another dino in the spotlight is the use of Mattel. D-Rex, a remote controlled dinosaur with many different sounds and realistic movement aims to fascinate kids this year.

3. Indiana Jones Toys

HasbroIndiana Jones is really something to look forward this year. The movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is scheduled to be one of the hot films of 2008. It is therefore not surprising that Lego, Hasbro and others have jumped on Indy bandwagon! The plot of the film is not yet fully revealed. However, Lego had some wonderful sets of Indiana Jones. Some offers include Hasbro Indiana Jones Mr. Potato Head: Taters of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones Sound FX Whip and of course Indiana Jones action figures.

4. Science and Nature Related Toys

Jakks Pacifici noticed a wide variety of science kits and nature on the theme of toys at Toy Fair this year. Elmers (Glue Society) had a really cool science kits represented by Bill Nye, the science guy. Explore the science has been a lot of fun to offer kits where children can experiment with fascinating objects like bubbles, perfumes, volcanoes and more. The biggie in the science category of none other than Eyeclops Jakks Pacific, which has updated versions (read night vision and higher magnification) available. In addition, Uncle Milton Ant Farm fame had some cool Indiana Jones products based show.

5. Batman - The Dark Knight Toys

MattelThe new film Batman The Dark Knight is scheduled to be released later this year. Mattel has a host of Batman toys and action figures in their sleeve. The Stealth Batmobile and the Wayne Tech Tri Fire Blaster are must haves. Apart from these two, there are many options of simulation games and figurines from Mattel Batman.
