He goes to kindergarten and I want to help. How can I teach him to spell the words .. pronouce things like that. Please help! sites are also welcome =]

Here are some really great ways to teach math, take the matchbox cars, place a car on the ground in front of him. ask him how many cars there, he will answer then add another car and is now asking how many cars it will respond more then say a car is a car two cars. just continue to do so until ten. you can use something like cars, buttons, peanuts, what ever, so he can see. Do the same with subtraction. five cars to take one and so on.

Now, what to teach him to pronounce words, take a piece of construction paper, put the letter sounds on paper Comon cut a slot Infront two letter words. on a strip of paper that is large enough to fit easily into the slots you cut, then letters instead work only with the first line
For example (mpschb) mat, pat, sat, cat, hat, bat
do the same thing with the next line and the man pan tan you get the idea.

and just continue using different combinations of letters.

Make sure he knows his shapes, and can draw a circle and an X is used as ditto sheets on something you either circle or put an X on it.

It must be able to write and recognize his own name.

know their colors, and how to use scissors and glue.

tie his shoes, zippers zip his own and be able to touch. and wink. teachers are not used to help children with these things. some do most usual.

the numbers of practice, you take out the pieces of fruit and demonstrate 2 +2 = 4. Once a child can count and know their numbers, they can begin to add and subtract, and if you have real objects that you add or remove a battery he could really help the child.

My son just finished kindergarten. During the year, his teacher gave him "sight" words to learn and as they were, etc. As we read books, I read most of the words and let him read the sight "words who were on the page. At the end of the year, he read most all the words in books, even if they never had him as "sight" words.

just keep going with him on it .. as spelling. Just show him how to write something .. say ..

Cat. Say OK How do you spell cat? CAT and then do it again. then go to dogs or something. Do only three words at a time though. then, after you've done something like

DOG
MOP, then ask how to spell cat again, see if he remembers. Then just some random day. (Lets say there is a cat on TV) Say .. hey - insert name h.
