Math Supplies

I do not want to ask the parents that I want before school starts. Teachers already ask parents to buy too many things. I'm not going to buy 10 pairs of shoes. Shoe stores will not give them, I tried. Ideas?

Do you have a Cato clothing store in your area? I was there yesterday and they are in a shippment of shoes. They put their shoes on a rack and throw the boxes away. I am sure they will give what they had if you told them it was for a school. Good luck. Also maybe try a Doller General / Family Dollar store type. Sometimes they sell the plastic packages of 3 for $ 2.

Even going to a dollar store and pay a dollar is too much? Wal-Mart sells these type boxes, even for less than a dollar. Plastic. Long. Ideal for storage and stacking. Save space in your classroom, too. Otherwise, you can spend a lot of time and gas driving and trying to get donations of shoe stores, I suppose. How do you make the best use of your few days of summer left before teaching?

Well, most parents buy their children new shoes for school, so if you wait, you could get from parents. Have you tried to ask the employees at Walmart? My local Walmart has been very supportive of the needs of my class.
