What 19th century French illustrator itself named after a pen and pencil were named after him? I am currently completing a quiz so if anyone has even a suggestion that would be great!
In 1795, Nicolas Jacques Conted discovered a method of mixing powdered graphite with clay and forming the mixture into rods which were then baked in an oven. By varying the ratio of graphite to clay, the hardness of the graphite rod could also be modified (more clay, more pencil and lighter color of the mark). The production method remains in use today.
Nicolas-Jacques Conted (1755-1805), the French scientist who invented the conte and graphite modern.
Pierre Bedzier, a French mathematician and engineer who developed Corves Bezier, a method of computer drawing in the 1960s. Most graphics software includes a pen tool to draw paths with Bezier curves.
Just a guess Faber
