What organic mattress did you buy and how you like it? We envision an organic baby mattress for our baby and looking at the many options for Yahoo! Shopping. Some are waterproof, some have no wool, etc. Looking for a personal recommendation from someone who has purchased one or more organic mattress bed.
In obtaining a crib mattress, the first thing you want to see is the firmness. The way to test this is to put your hands on either side of the mattess, and pressing in. To do this, the middle of the mattress where the child goes to sleep. The reason you want a firm mattress in preventing SIDS. As far as the baby grows during the first year, you want something very strong. If they are sleeping on something soft, their bones will grow this way, leading to serious problems later. The best mattress I think you would a foam mattress with antibacterial coating. In this way, nothing can get inside the mattress, and there is no wool and cotton inside the mattress. The mattress that I recommend is the Colgate Classica III (a blue cover). It is a foam pad dual zone, which means one side of the mattress, so firm as the other. The reason Colgate did this so that the child is in bed toddler, they can rest on something a bit softer. Not much softness of harming the child. But enough to help the transition later, when they are ready to move to the Twin / double bed. Please email me if you require further information.
