Heart of Gold and Pokemon Silver Soul feels, at least for me, as a gap filler to the expectation of a new Pokemon game a little more bearable. Gold and Silver are considered by many as the best of the best Pokemon RPG, and it is easy to see why, after having played this remake: it's still addictive and fun adventure, fully compatible with all versions of Pokemon made for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance.

But yes, it's a remake. Like Fire and Leaf Green GBA, Golden Heart and Soul of Money existed in the Pokemon canon, and obviously the design team does not work as hard to recreate an existing game as it would be a novel experience.
