Primitive DollsThe Miniature Doll House Fascination

Over the years, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know many fans of miniatures. This inspires them to see familiar objects in a tiny form realistic?

Much more than a child's plaything, building doll houses, and ultimately decorating and provide them with a theme of your choice, has become a pastime for adults. The only way to improve on this point is to have a daughter or granddaughter who may share this interest and passion with you.

Personally, my interest is in miniature miniatures and antique dolls, more than in modern works. The strange thing about that is that old pieces are often created with a vision true to scale, and scale is important for me when displaying thumbnails modern.

The skills involved in the creation of small porcelain dolls by little, with movable limbs, often blown glass eyes, real mohair wigs is amazing. Add to that the primitive conditions in factories that many of these dolls were created in, adds to my amazement. Many of these tiny dolls have lasted over 100 years they have been handled and played with heart and often abandoned, only to turn years later, somewhere in an attic.

The furniture of that era were often handmade, often primitive, and many did not withstand the test of time and small dolls made. To learn, possess and enjoy these pieces today is a delight.

Manufactured doll house furniture from this period were often made in Germany like little dolls. I had a friend bring his collection of German origin in childhood to help me sell. It is more than 90 years, a charming lady, who still teaches piano, runs his own house, and dresses her dolls. She had a story to tell about each piece, and recalls the hours spent with his sister in the creation Linen tiny little bed, doll clothes and lampshades. I like to think that there are similar stories about all the antiques that comes my way.

Also important to me is for miniatures to bring the matter they are in real life.
If a bed is a representative of wood, I can not tolerate it in plastic. (Sorry Chrysenbon) If sanitary facilities are either pieces of porcelain, then do not make them in the woods! Realism is very important in my own collections.

Some enthusiasts enjoy making all their own furniture and accessories, even their own dolls. This job requires can be admired by those of us less talented, but certainly made their obvious fascination.

Some artisans make these exquisite pieces can command prices as much as their counterparts in size. There are miniature artists who paint on canvas each tiny work of art is a painting of a kind. Other artists paint on tiny plates, even buttons as canvasses.

There are artists who do miniature miniature tapestry, knitting, carpet making and ceramics and wood workers.

One thing I found is that once someone embraces this hobby, it is usually the obsession of a long life.
