Sandra Cabot

Sandra CabotWho is a good fiction writer?

I like Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Nora Roberts, Jennifer Weiner, Sandra Brown, Meg Cabot, Jennifer Crusie, Iris Johannson. I'm looking for new fiction to read.

I recommend Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker for supernatural thrillers.

I recommend Kathleen Woodiwiss, Amanda Quick (Jayne Ann Krentz is), Linda Howard, Catherine Coulter and Kay Hooper for the novel and / or romantic suspense. You can also take advantage of Mary Jo Putney, Mary Balogh, Christina Skye, Jude Deveraux, Johanna Lindsey and Loretta Chase.

For excellent mystery: Agatha Christie, Mary Higgins Clark, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes), Dorothy L. Sayers (Lord Peter Wimsey), Phyllis A. Whitney, Mary Stewart and Victoria Holt. Catherine Coulter has an excellent mystery series that begins with the FBI The Cove.

For classic fantasy / horror, I recommend Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Picture of Dorian Gray Oscar Wilde (The Strange Case of) Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Fall of the House of Usher Edgar Allan Poe and The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux.

You can enjoy something from Ray Bradbury Wicked This Way Comes, too.

As far as classical drama / romantic, reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (all hers), the shuttle Frances Hodgson Burnett, Evelina by Fanny Burney, Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert and Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell.

For more modern drama which usually romance, I suggest Rosamunde Pilcher (I love all his books), Maeve Binchy and Taylor Caldwell (keep one hand dictionary if you read one of hers).

For pure "Be there he put-down thriller, read Vince Flynn novels, beginning with term limits.

HAV you read the books Twilight by Stephenie Meyer? so good

Kafka try: P
cannot beat all that drama

From the authors that you give - I would say, Danielle Steel, author of the Gossip Girl series, and JK Rowling, of course!

Here's my bias (in no particular order)

Arthur C. Clarke
Doug Adams
Heidi Julavits
Hemingway
Shirley Jackson
John Dufresne

There are probably a million I'm forgetting, but they are numerous enough to see anyway.

Meg Cabot. Stephenie Meyer is going well. Emily Bronte. Malorie Blackman is the best out there! but maybe I'm biased.

Franz Kafka is really good.

I heard good things about Cormac McCarthy too.

Read some deficit Latin America: (Translated, if you must)

Garcaa MaĦrquez - 100 Years of Solitude
Juan Rulfo - Pedro PaĦramo
Jorge Luis Borges - Garden of Forking Paths, The Aleph

Stuart Woods, JAJance, James D. Doss, John Dunning, Matthew Reilly, Jack Dubrule, Clive Cussler, Paul Christopher, Tanya Huff, Glen Cook. Just to get you started on other books. I too fancy. Try Michelle Sagara, Jim Butcher Dresden Files series another in addition to that is really good and he is currently writing a series on.

Neil Gaiman
Stephenson
Connie Willis
Charles DeLint
Sheri Tepper S
Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (they write several books in team)

Ken Follett, John Grisham, Kurt Vonnegut, Michael Crighton
