MarketplaceShakespeare Costumes How was it to go to the theater in London Shakespeare? Could you describe the scenery, costumes, actors? How was it to go to the theater in London from Shakespeare? Could you please describe the sets, costumes, actors and the audience? And why was the language of his plays so important? Please help me as soon as possible. Thank you. You mean the Globe Theatre, is not it?
Well, it was a large wooden theater in a circle. There was no roof and in the center there were no seats. There was a balcony on the wall for the rich people, but the poor standing on the ground looking at the pieces from there. These poor people who stood on the ground floor were called. The conditions of the theater were pretty disgusting. Groundings were disgusting. Went to the bathroom in the corners of the region, drank and ate and left their trash all around them. Shows last more than four hours.
All actors were male, of course. If they did something like Romeo and Juliet, a young man, probably in adolescence could play Juliet.
Now, the language of his plays were very important because the way they were melodic description. Needless to say, Groundlings are not very intelligent, they have also been quite vicious. The second they did not like what they would really take food to the actors on stage. That is why almost all of Shakespeare's plays, or start a fight, the supernatural, or a sex scene or whatever. These scenes do not hang the Groundlings and get them to watch the rest of the show.
I hope this helps! Posted on June 9, 2010.
