Universe Star Wars - You're never too old Do you remember the first time you've seen Star Wars? I do. I remember in the film and almost jump out of my skin when the first Star Destroyer evero burst onto the screen as he chased the Corellian Corvette Tattooine above. From the first moment I was a Star Wars fan and I'm sure many of you reading this remember what time exactly the same too. It is when you love story "with Star Wars has really started right?
George Lucas was and is a smart guy. Years later, when I was all grown up in many other films that have influenced this film had hit me. Everything from the films of Kurosawa films to British Second World War had become a part of this epic science fiction. This is part of the genius of his work, even if - he did not try to reinvent the wheel. It just took a lot od different departments to add and each added color and depth to the final film.
What is even more amazing is that since most critics have been concerned that movies would be a flop. Lucas was really concerned about this so that the film was made under the title Blue Harvest to keep away from prying eyes and to keep the movie sounds like bland and boring. Remember up to this point Lucas was almost unknown with the only film he made is worth talking about American Graffiti (we will not talk about thx1138 ...) when he knew that he had much to prove.
There was also the problem that up to this sci-fi had never really done well at the box office. They did "ok", but never really scored a huge success. Even when Kubrick 2001, he has not put the public on fire. But that was all about to change.
So finally the film was over overbudget $ 3,000,000 and published by a movie studio nervous. And it became a success overnight. Not just a success. It has become a craze with people queuing to see the movie for the 5th, 10th and 20th time. The film appeals to so many people on so many levels that it was intended to be a success and the number shown.
Demand for toys Star Wars was almost immediate and the Kenner toy company were to give rights to produce the first line of toys. What they did not expect the application was quite mad about everything and all types of Star Wars collectibles. This madness lasted until the presence of many Star Wars fans (myself included there) always looking for the latest collection or a gadget to add to your collection or to buy gifts for brothers and sisters nephews and nieces. This is just to make sure that the Star Wars legacy lives forever - as it should.
