Supply Teacher Jobs

Supply Teacher JobsHow do I become a teacher supply?

I graduated from university last year PGCE and obtained a full-time job as a science teacher at a secondary school based in the West Midlands, England.

Can you tell me how I became a professor of supply and whether or not it has better job prospects than a regular school teacher.

What about wages? Is a substitute teacher paid more than a high school teacher based permanently?

I taught full time for 30 years, retired early and became a professor of supply. I had a lot of work, but now with the advent of the TA and in particular the work of ARDC supply has dried up. I know that schools use them cos they are cheaper. If you want to be a teacher supply, there are agencies, or once out of work full time you can approach schools in the region and offer your services (which is what I did) But your breath Hod . Sorry.

Hope this helps, even if it's a bit depressing.

Right, you do not want to be a teacher supply at all. Remember what happened to them when you had as a child, right terrible, do not turn to the dark side.

You can subscribe to your LEA on a supply list. You can also send your resume local schools.
Substitutes are paid more than normal teachers because you do not pay for school holidays. The salary is between £ 90 and £ 130 per day depending on experience.

In terms of career prospects, you'd better stay in a full-time, unless you hate the school where you are you will probably be better too, as supply teachers do not work every day, and they are paid in proportion to what they get if they were employed full time with paid holidays.

However, there is the provision of education there, especially for rare subjects like science. You must register at a college offer in your area. Just look under yell.com or similar to "agency emergency education" or teaching supply. Be aware that agencies will have a reduced rate every day, but it may make it easier to get a regular job. Keep in mind, however, you'll often be sent to schools where teachers are on sick with stress - whether some schools will be a little scary to work in. It's not like the cutesy ads on TV!

You can also contact the various schools, and send your CV to your local LEA.

Despite the insecurity, there are advantages to the provision of education and it fits nicely in the home work - for example, you could write the next great novel, if only want to work a few days a week. And no meetings and the preparation and marking loads! Good luck.

A teacher supply becomes more per day than a high school teacher, which is usually based on experience ... but you have not paid during the Holls, or when you are sick or days, you do not work. Thus, for things like mortgages, etc., you will be classified as self eemployedand it could be difficult. Also consider your pension and health insurance etc.

It takes a special kind of person to be a teacher supply and they usually have to deal with difficult students.

Simply find which agencies you use the school and get in touch wth them. they will tell you what qqualificationsyou need and if you can get a job with them or not.

I would not give a permanent teaching position for a temp, but at least I was very unhappy in my work.
