Toddler Trike

Toddler TrikeHow to teach a child to use a tricycle?

Suggestions anyone? My baby is 18 months old and trying to help him mount his tricycle, but it just will not keep his feet on the pedals.
Any suggestions or advice, or perhaps a truck manufacturer that gives tips on the web?
Thank you very much

Oh your baby is still a bit young!

I work with small children and I do encourage them to ride trikes if open interest to those that we have in the nursery. If a quick rise and seems interested, I put my feet on the pedals and move the pedals around a few times with my hands. They are fun and do not want me to stop! When I do, they sometimes try to move the pedals by themselves using their feet. I find that once the baby is about 2 years, you get a better rate of success-

Good luck!

"Let him play on it and sometimes give him a boost and show how to work the pedals. He will learn soon enough. My children and grandchildren have as much fun pushing the cart as they were actually riding.

18 months, a little young still, some have Sart walk far. give a few more weeks and there will not arrest him

my guy has never really had. he is 3 and 3 months now and has been mounted on a two-wheeled bike "balance", also called a bicycle "run" for about six months now. It is a pedal withoutt motorbikes, and he loves.

I think he is too young yet. My son is 21 months and still has not pedal. He likes to be hustled well and loves her "tycul Ducky (cycle duck in his words).

I think its better for them to learn at their own pace. He will learn, there is no stopping them. Do a few months make a big difference?

he will when he is ready and not before. It's a baby, let him enjoy this Understanding for himself ..

I agree, a little young - Are you being a "pushy-mum" already, why not stop at a local toddler group where they have some of these type of toys and he can see from other children his own age doing things pedals? probaobly is a bit more realistic you try to show him or force him to keep his feet on the pedals.

Buy one of the trikes you can push them until they are ready to pedal. My girls the same age and goes crackers when she sees bicycles and tricycles, but hasn'ta clue how to work a pedal, I think something maybe they blame From the age of 2 or closer to that age to be a good thing difficult to learn.
