Well, here you go: the first 3 names for boys in 1960 were David, Michael and James, and Mary's daughters, Susan and Linda, the first three names in 1890 for boys were John, William and James and for daughters Mary, Anna and Elizabeth.

Using the database

1. Popular names by year of birth - this report allows you to see more big names for one year, and you can ask for accurate statistical data (percent of total births or births) should be indicated for each name. This report is to be used for the top 100 baby names.

Tips for printing and copying

If you want to print a page of top 100 baby names, a useful tip is to select just the table name or names you want, then in the print dialog of your browser choose "- the browser keeps only the highlighted selection. Or you can simply print the entire page - they seem to come out formatted correctly.
