What kind of toy box should I buy? Any recommendations? pictures?
I looked at Wal-Mart and Target sites and I do not know whether to get a wooden toy or a Nice Little Tikes single plastics.
Thank you!
I agree with New Momma. For a family / games area, a wooden box would be nicer.
My daughter's room a beautiful wooden chest that went with his bedroom. I was thinking when she outgrew toys, it would be good for storage or perhaps a hope chest. It proved to be great for storing off-season clothing, blankets, etc.
my son's room had a toy box of chipboard. It has sliding doors painted with a green slate painting, and went with the Ninja Turtle theme he had in his room at the time. We could not really reuse when he grew up, but it was relatively inexpensive and he loved it.
I'll give you a trick I learned from my son. Figurines Action and Hot Wheels will always find their way to the bottom of the toy chest. My son had to take things to their research. For Christmas the following year, he asked me to facilitate something to put in the little things to keep them organized. I came across a small 3-stacker third wheel. In vivid colors and primary, and he could roll in and out of his closet to save space in his small room. It could set hot wheels in a tray, figures in another, and Legos in the other. It worked perfectly, and he loved it! So consider some sort of system bin if your child has small toys like these.
Other than that, it's just a matter of preference and what works with your decor and households. Little Tykes is definitely sustainable and suitable for children, it would be work well. Any chest will serve the purpose it is sufficient to ensure that the lid is too heavy, is hinged so that it will not snap your fingers or almost caught, and remains open during that they languish there. toys your child may outgrow the tank toy, do not be afraid to reuse plastic laundry baskets for the surplus. They are light, beautiful work, can be easily transported from room to room, and put in a closet out of sight when not in use.
I hope these suggestions help you!
While her that they have access too familiar and pinching fingers on whatever I think is ok. I guess it depends if its going in the baby's room or family room. Family Room, you may want wood if it is not so "baby" as there.
everything is secure - look for one that has a slow hinge or fastening must be pressed so it will not drop on the small heads and fingers. Another security feature is a good gap between the upper chest and the lid so fingers are physically incapable of getting caught.
for my money, a wooden box would be preferable, especially if it's something that can be retargeted when the child grows (as, f.ex, a bedside table of Nice) or transmit to future generations.
Plus: the wood is more environmentally friendly.
Well, if it is between the two woods because I say I try to avoid plastic as much as I can since plastic is made from oil and oil causes cancer. In fact, I went with a soft side because you do not have to worry about slamming their head on sharp corners, or closing their fingers in the lid. This one I bought for my daughter, but in pink. It is actually very strong.
