water guns???? OK, I personally do not like and do not buy my children any type of toy gun, but I do not judge other parents who let children play with it and when my children are not with me and I that they have played with one, I say you know mom does not like you play with it, but I know I can not stop them from playing with them, so I chose not to buy
so here is my question .... I received an email from my daughters daycare say there will be a beach party and that children can bring beach toys, including water guns ...
I am licensed as anything I do not ...
one day before the game I get an email saying that the other parent has requested that there be no water guns at the party ... I'm upset .... She pushes his views on us, which is not right, although I agree with him .. I could not talk to the Coordinator because my daughter does not go in the summer, but when she returns ... What is your opinion on this???
My son was having a great time playing in the hot weather with a water gun just today, the parent who asked this is ridiculous on top and removing other children to have a good time water guns are just toys and outdoor fun IMO they are not a gun "I do not buy toy guns for my son but I think water guns / pistols are not in this category they are great fun in warm weather. Of course, you entiltled your views on these toys, but you have kept that to yourself, the center should not have accepted this request, what Happened to listen to the majority? They should have said that the chance difficult parent, do not let your children bring them. I agree, it pushes his point of view and it's not fair to other children who want to play with water pistols!
I think this is a very small and I let go.
Come on, it's water pistols!
Why not propose a spray / mist bottle. It is always fun for kids, but not a firearm. Now I know that your daughter does not attend for the summer, but it is always good to know what is happening there.
I also do not like my children to play with weapons of any kind. Sometimes you can find that are shaped squirters animal and I'll let them use these.
I think it is correct for that parent to talk about his beliefs. The center must be informed and to listen to suggestions from parents. Young children may not understand the difference between water guns "and" real weapons. "Could be that the center can use spray bottle or set up a sprinkler for kids to have fun in the water .
I know it seems strange to "make a fuss" about it, but I think that the parent has the right to express his opinion. Maybe he would have been better for her to express his views in private and leave the daycare director make the final decision rather than becoming a parent that one.
I totally disagree with toy guns and not let my kids go near them in all circumstances, but in God's name am I to impose my belief or disbelief in person? I just want to exclude my child from this activity and ask substitute.Just kind of how I did not celebrate Halloween, so I keep my children at home that day.
Are you against water guns or what? get over it
I do not like water guns, either, and I am very uncomfortable when I see children playing with any type of toy gun.
I probably asked the guard not to bring guns. Sorry, but I do not want my kid playing with them, or see other children playing with them. I could push my views on others, but at least my child will not grow up to be desensitized to guns and violence. it is really important and I could talk for days about it .. maybe I'm wrong, but I want my children to violence.
EDIT: I reread my answer, and I just wanted to add that.
