Can I use the internet through thw Wii using one of my neighbors wireless internet connections. my neighbors are about 500 meters from my house.

500 ft is probably too far. You would need their permission first anyway if you want.

Yes, 500ft is too far the most remote colud you go is about 100 feet. In addition, you can not use their wifi, because it can have a WEP key or is set to be found.
